The Laughing Man
The narrator of “The Laughing Man” is a man looking back on his youth, in the summer of 1928, when he used to participate in an afternoon sports camp/club called the “Comanches Club.” This organization consists of a group of young boys being driven around in a school-bus by a NYU law student, named John Gedsudski but known to the kids as “the Chief.” On sunny days, the kids go to the park...
